The Telford Community Pride Awards celebrates the truly remarkable people, groups and businesses who make the borough a better place.
by Thomas Cox
Every day, people are supporting and caring for their neighbours, family members, friends and the wider community in Telford and Wrekin.
Here at Healthy Telford we recognise that these passionate people are invaluable to our neighbourhoods. Because strong communities, and the people in those communities, are at the heart of what makes a place healthy.
That’s we are very excited that the Telford Community Pride Awards 2018 has now opened for nominations.
The awards celebrate the truly remarkable people, groups and businesses who make our borough a better place.
So ask yourself – can you think of an individual, group or organisation who has helped you or someone you know? Do you know of someone who has organised an activity or event that has brought the community together?
Then consider putting them for nomination in the Telford Community Pride Awards 2018.
We will be doing the same. In particular, we will putting forward nominations for the Inspirational Healthy Lifestyle Award, sponsored by Ricoh. An award given to someone who can demonstrate a positive impact to both the physical and mental wellbeing of people in the community.
Other entries are currently being sought in a variety of categories – from good neighbours to best environmental champion, from sporting achievement to outstanding volunteer, and from best community support group to companies that give something back.

The awards are hosted as part of Telford’s 50th birthday celebrations and Pride in Our Community work.
