“Go out and enjoy what’s out your front door. Look after it, because its yours.”

Chad manages our Street Champions – people who volunteer their time to improve our local environment. This is his plea for people to look after our green spaces.

By Chad Addison, Street Champion volunteer co-ordinator.

This is “My Field”. I don’t mean I own it – its Council land, public land and right near my home. Anyone can enjoy using this land and my family use it all of the time and I wanted to show it to you.

Street Champions volunteer their own time to keep this field, and fields like this tidy. We walk them everyday and pick dropped litter and report problems we see.

Its not a big deal, we’re here anyway so its easy to pick up the odd bit of rubbish as we go.

I feel we should all take stock of the green spaces around us from time to time, protect them, and look after what we have on our own doorstep. We need to love and enjoy our streets, fields, and parks.

We enjoy our field in the simplest of ways, nothing special. We walk the dog and kick a football about, sometimes we just sit in it for while and enjoy the fresh air, there’s even the odd drone flight…

What’s outside your front door could be one of the greatest places on earth. “My field” is smack in the middle of Telford – Stirchley to be exact, and its definitely in my top 10. I’m sure you’ll agree it’s an amazing place once you’ve watched the video.

Whatever your doing this weekend don’t forget whats outside your front door. Go out and enjoy it, look after it, because its yours.
