Volunteers from Telford’s T50 50 mile Trail are looking to ‘Get Telford Walking’ this weekend.
By Thomas Cox
Telford has so many footpaths and bridleways it’s just ideal for walking, plus there are so many beautiful walks and green spaces – this is a great way to discover new places and get out in the fresh air with friends.
On Sunday May 19 almost 50 volunteers will be taking advantage of Telford’s footpaths by holding a series of walks starting at GP surgeries across the borough.
Join in this weekend
Walks will range in distance from short circular walks of 1-2 miles and longer walks from each surgery that join sections of the 50 mile trail, ensuring everyone has a chance to take part at a level that suits them.
The longer walks will converge in Telford Town Park.
Details for all the planned walks can be found on the Facebook Event page for Get Telford Walking.
Or visiting the T50 50 Mile trail website.
Summer of Walks

Walkers will be joined by BBC Radio Shropshire Presenter, Paul Suttleworth, as part of their ‘Summer of Walks’ and will be covering the event live on the day.
Let’s Get Telford Active
The event has been funded by Telford & Wrekin Council as part of it’s campaign – Let’s Get Telford Acitve.
The council’s £50,000 Get Telford Active fund is supporting more than 20 projects led by the community, taking place over the next year.
