Help us to support low income families during the school holidays

The school holidays often places families under significant financial pressure.

This is because families face increased costs in providing healthy meals, childcare and a giving their children things to do.

There is growing evidence that the lack of free school meals during the summer holidays can impact on the health and well being of some families.

Free holiday clubs can be part of a community solution to this problem.

So we are inviting local organisations to apply for Telford & Wrekin Council’s Holiday Activities and Eat Well Fund to help people host holiday clubs.

A successful pilot was held last year, and we now plan to roll this out to more places in the borough.

Apply for the “Holiday Activities and Eat Well” Fund

£50,000 fund is available for charities and voluntary sector organisations, social enterprises, town and parish councils, schools and faith based organisations.

We encourage eligible organisations to apply for this scheme in the following wards:  Arleston, Brookside, Dawley & Aqueduct, Donnington, Hadley & Leegomery, Ketley & Overdale, Madeley & Sutton Hill, Malinslee & Dawley Bank, Oakengates & Ketley Bank, The Nedge and Woodside.

Interested organisations should submit their Expression of Interest by Monday, 27 May 2019.
