By Kath Howard, Chair of the Friends of Bowring Park
The Wellington Wellbeing Picnic will be taking place between 12noon-3pm, and people who come along will be able to have a go at host of chilled-out activities all for free.
Pilates, yoga and tai chi are just some of the less strenuous activities focused on wellbeing. Health and wellbeing check will be provided by our co-hosts at the Wellington Wellbeing Network.
There will also be informal games like rounders, quick cricket, tennis, climbing and Zumba, led by community coaches and even a dog show.
The Friends of Bowring Park is a fairly new voluntary group looking to make Bowring Park a valued space for the local community. We want people to feel that they can come here active and socialise with friends and family.
A lot of the equipment used at the picnic will be available for future use in sessions we will hold throughout the summer.
We hope to see you there! Join our Facebook Event if you plan to make it.
Let’s Get Telford Active
This event has been funded by Telford & Wrekin Council for £1,500 as part of it’s campaign – Let’s Get Telford Active.
The pot of £50,000 aims to encourage community-led activities, creating more chances for people to have a go at different activities and find something they love.
