Woodside’s Park Lane Centre is launching its summer of fun this year with free activities like cycling, basketball, circus skills and a range of street sports on Saturday, June 29.
The free taster sessions are open to all and there will also be face painting, Whack It Smack It recycled musical instrument workshops, Leos Loco Circus, Bhangra dancing, henna painting as well as the opening of a new outdoor gym.
The event has been organised thanks to £3,500 grant from Telford and Wrekin Council as part of the Lets Get Telford Active campaign.
The funding helped the team purchase equipment and Jacqui Idiens, The Park Lane Centre manager, said:
“We are looking forward for the local community to come along to the centre, to try something new and enjoy the party atmosphere.
“We want to bring the community together and provide a place that is safe, well-used and valued by everyone in our community.
“We hope this funding will help us to provide a service to our community that encourages community cohesion and improves physical, mental and emotional health as well as helping social and economic regeneration.”Jacqui Idiens, Park Lane Centre Manager
