Earlier in the month Allscott Heath Sports and Social Club held an open day to help people find a love for activity, in a fun and social way.

More than 200 people came out in the sunshine to try out archery, bowls, cricket, football and more.

The event was put together thanks to a £1,000 from Telford & Wrekin Council as part of it’s Let’s Get Telford Active Campaign, which was used to buy new equipment

This is just one of the many Let’s get Telford Active events taking place this year. Each one aims to provide a fun and friendly way for people to develop a love for activity if they are out of practice – or even for people to get active for the first time.

Each event we have funded has been made and run by people in communities for people in communities. This is about the community coming together to encourage people to be active.

Why not have a look at our list of events and join in at an event near you.
