We are looking for a Community Sport and Health Apprentice.
The Community Sport and Health Officer will have an important role in supporting individuals and communities to find solutions that improve their own health and wellbeing.
They’ll be working with communities to implement and coordinate a local active offer that includes physical and wellbeing activities.
Rather than be based at the council, the apprentice will be out in the community working with the Sutton Hill Community Trust, Telford Mind and Court Street Medical Practice.
If you are interested please take a closer look at the role and apply.
We recruited another apprentice this week. Pardeep Sahota joins us as the Youth Health Champion Project Officer. His first day was at the start of national apprenticeship week – so excellent timing.
He will be supporting the development and co-ordination of a volunteer Youth Health Champion scheme.
The volunteer Youth Champions will be similar to our successful Health Champions scheme. Pardeep will be recruiting young people as volunteers to promote key positive health messages to their peers, family, neighbours – and work closely with schools, youth clubs and other establishments attended by young people. Through health messages and projects the scheme will support, the communities, the Council’s and the young volunteers own health and wellbeing priorities.
Individuals and communities are brilliant at finding solutions to improve their own health and wellbeing.
Both these apprenticeships will help to make health and wellbeing everybody’s business in Telford and Wrekin.
