Residents share the love for our refuse collectors and other keyworkers

We have been blown away by residents who have got in touch to share their love of refuse collectors and other key workers in Telford and Wrekin.

While some of us are feeling the strain of staying at home there are thousands of people that are out in the community keeping things ticking over. Making our lives a little easier during this challenging time.

These are non other that our local refuse collectors and they are doing an amazing job out there every day providing a vital service.

You could say they are among some of the unsung heroes who are on the frontline and not always able to keep a 2m distance.

It’s not just us that think so. Residents all over the borough have been showing their love for refuse collectors in different ways too.

Here are just a few of the lovely messages of thanks that have greeted them on their rounds this week.

Thank you to Emily for her lovely picture (very neat colouring in) and to everyone else who has taken the time to leave messages for them.

They have meant a lot to us, Veolia and of course the crews, including Mike and Kyle (pictured out in Lawley on Wednesday).

Help keep the spirits of teams up by giving them a wave if you see them, leave a note, shout thank you. Help sahre the love of our refuse collectors.

Keep up the fantastic work and thank you for STAYING AT HOME, PROTECTING THE NHS AND SAVING LIVES.

  1. My husband and I were walking through Church Aston on Monday where 2 refuse collectors were working. They looked very much like Mike and Kyle. As we approached they parted and moved an appropriate distance from us, and waved us past with a smile. I was so impressed I had planned to send a comment. They were an example for us all to follow. If everyone was as polite and respectful as they were the world would be a better place.

  2. Don’t forget about food factory employees, owners safety earn money when employees risk their health for the same money as always.

  3. A very big thank you to all The People who are working behind-the-scenes more unseen hero’s
