People are gearing up to take part in several guided walks exploring the stunning scenery of Telford from 29 May to 4 June 2023, as part of Telford’s Big Walk Week.
Whether you are a seasoned hiker or a family looking for a fun day out, there is a walk to suit all abilities and interests.
The best part? Most of the walks are completely free, while others have a small fee that is well worth it for the experience.
And it’s the perfect opportunity to realise how being active in nature can boost your wellbeing.
Feel the difference of nature – be active in green spaces
Studies have found that regular use of parks or woodland for physical activity reduces the risk of poor mental health. It can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, and promote happiness. This does not happen as much in indoor spaces.
Over the past decade, the total number of visits to green spaces has almost doubled.
Walking is a great way to get active in nature; this event is the perfect opportunity to see what’s out there. Who knows, maybe you’ll meet new people or make walking part of your routine? Whatever happens, you are sure to give how you feel a boost.
Whichever walk you go on, you’ll have the opportunity to discover hidden gems, take in breathtaking views, and learn about the history and culture of our beautiful destination.
No matter which walks you choose, you can expect to be led by knowledgeable guides passionate about sharing their love for Telford’s landscape and heritage.
And with routes and terrain to suit all abilities, you can rest assured that everyone in your group will have a memorable and enjoyable experience.
