At the end of March, the seventh session in our School Health and Wellbeing Webinar Series looked at how to support the physical activity levels of all pupils, presented by Sam Ostermeyer, the Children and Young People Programme Manager from Energize.
Rethinking movement in schools
Physical activity is a cornerstone of children’s health, wellbeing and development. Pupils should be doing at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day within school, and 60 minutes of daily activity overall.
Rather than limiting activity to PE lessons, this session encourages schools to rethink how movement can be embedded everywhere – from classrooms and corridors to playgrounds and transitions between lessons.
Energize supports children and young people to live active lives.
Visit the Energize website to find out more about the work they do within schools.
